Before installation, inspect the outside of the tread for any protruding nails, pieces of glass, thorns, or other objects. Squeeze any cuts to check for objects such as slivers of glass. Visually inspect the inside of the tire casing for nails, glass, or debris. Wipe the inside of the casing with a rag, then carefully feel inside with your fingers, using care if using a tire lever to avoid puncturing a hole in the inner tube. Inspect both sides of the tire for bead seating and for any signs of the inner tube.
